Analytical Models for the Pulse Shape of a Superconductor-Ferromagnet Tunnel Junction Thermoelectric Microcalorimeter

چکیده

The superconductor-ferromagnet thermoelectric detector (SFTED) is a novel ultrasensitive radiation based on the giant effect in superconductorferromagnet tunnel junctions. We demonstrate analytical models and solutions time domain for SFTED operated as microcalorimeter (pulse excitation), linear smallsignal limit. Based these solutions, signal current temperature pulse response were studied two different electrical circuit models, providing design conditions stable non-oscillatory response.

Nonlinear thermoelectric effects in high-field superconductor-ferromagnet tunnel junctions

Background: Thermoelectric effects result from the coupling of charge and heat transport and can be used for thermometry, cooling and harvesting of thermal energy. The microscopic origin of thermoelectric effects is a broken electron-hole symmetry, which is usually quite small in metal structures. In addition, thermoelectric effects decrease towards low temperatures, which usually makes them va...

Phase and spin dynamics in a superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor junction

We study a phase dynamics induced by a spin dynamics in a ferromagnetic Josephson junction, in which two superconductors (SC’s) are separated by a ferromagnetic layer. A new phenomenological model for the phase variable is proposed by including the spin dynamics excited by the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in the gauge invariant phase of s-wave SC’s. We found that the current-voltage characteri...

Giant thermoelectric effects in a proximity-coupled superconductor–ferromagnet device

The usually negligibly small thermoelectric effects in superconducting heterostructures can be boosted dramatically due to the simultaneous effect of spin splitting and spin filtering. Building on an idea of our earlier work (Machon et al 2013 Phys. Rev. Lett. 110 047002), we propose realistic mesoscopic setups to observe thermoelectric effects in superconductor heterostructures with ferromagne...

Spin-orbital coupling in a triplet superconductor-ferromagnet junction.

We study the interplay of spin and orbital degrees of freedom in a triplet superconductor-ferromagnet junction. Using a self-consistent spatially dependent mean-field theory, we show that increasing the angle between the ferromagnetic moment and the triplet vector order parameter enhances or suppresses the p-wave gap close to the interface, according to whether the gap antinodes are parallel or...
